About the college:

Uttamrao Patil Arts and Science College, established in August 1995, has been at the forefront rural and tribal students” education. It is established by the renowned philanthropist Shri Arvindrao Manikrao Patil under Navodaya Shaikshanik Sanshta (east. 1991), Dhule believing that education of rural and tribal students can change not only their fate, but also their entire family the goal of the Sanstha is “Tapasa Labhyte Sarvam”.

The college has a pleasant and exquisite campus which is spread over 10 acres in the precincts of village Dahivel (Tal- Sakri, Dist- Dhule), on the NH-6 the college is affiliated to the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon (Maharashtra.) Since its inception, it has come a long way establishing itself as credible torchbearer of educational movement in rural and tribal part of the state.

The college has maintained the tradition of high standard and quality education and shown excellent performance in the field of academics, sports, personality development, extracurricular activities, extension activities and other as well. The college runs UG programmes in six subjects at special level viz., Chemistry, Marathi, Hindi, History, Sociology, and Geography.

Profile of the College


    Navodaya Shaikshanik Sanstha, Dhule's Uttamrao Patil Arts and Science College is located at Dahivel- 424304, Tal.- Sakri, Dist- Dhule. The district Dhule is one of the 105 districts identified by UGC and Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt of India as "Educationally Backward Districts" The College is affiliated to the "North Maharashtra University", Jalgaon.

    Navodaya Shaikshanik Sanstha, Dhule is established in 1991 by a team of renowned persons with educational prudence and real concern for well being of the students from the rural, tribal, hilly areas, educationally backward and economically weaker sections of the society.

    Uttamrao Patil Arts College, Dahivel was established by the sansthan in 1995. The science faculty is introduced in 1998. The campus sprawls over..... acres of land.


Academic Programmes :

    The ideals of Navodaya Shaikshanik Sanstha along with basic concept of synchronizing traditional values and modern technology, guide the vision and futuristic plans of this college towards "Nations Salvation" through value based and career oriented education. The college imparts the instructions in the faculties of Arts and Science for Higher Secondary Certificate; B.A. degree in the subjects of Marathi, Hindi, History, Geography and Sociology under grant-in-aid basis; B.Sc. Degree in the subject of Chemistry on self financing basis.

Mission of the College :

    * To impart graduate education in the faculties of Arts and Science to the students from rural, tribal, hilly areas educationally backward and economically weaker sections of the society so that in the future their contribution will be certainly helpful for sustained development and building of Nation

    * To provide relevant higher education in the faculties of Arts and Science to the students from rural, tribal, hilly areas educationally backward and economically weaker sections of the society to groom them to be responsible citizens, who will bear torch for disseminating knowledge in the rural and tribal masses and sustained socio-economic development of the society with conservation of forest and environment.


Goals of the College :

The collage has defined the following goals:-

1. To make available facility of higher education to the students from rural, tribal,  hilly areas.

2. To widen the vision of rural and tribal youths through various academic programs.

3. To develop the personality of rural and tribal students through extracurricular activities.

4. To educate rural and tribal youths to develop into responsible citizens.


Vision of the College :

    * To provide value-based education to the students from, rural, tribal, hilly areas, educationally backward and economically weaker sections of the society to meet the regional and national challenges.

    * To become an Institution of Excellence in the field of Higher Education to the learners of the tribal area, mostly first generation learners.

    * Entrancing Higher Education to reach the learners of the rural, hilly and tribal areas, mostly first generation learners.

    * Entrancing Higher Education to reach the unreached.


Objectives of the College :

1. To increase access to higher education, thereby contribution to the development of the nation.

2. To ensure skill development amongst the students.

3. To inculcate scientific temper, research attitude and social accountability amongst faculty and students.

4. To promote use of information and Computer technology in academic development as well as administration.

5. To inculcate essential and desirable values in the students.


Teaching and Non-teaching Staff :

The college has 36 teachers of which 21 are covered under grant-in-aid for senior college, 10 for Junior college and 05 appointed on temporary basis. There are 20 non-teaching staff including administrative and technical staff. All the teachers are well learned and expert in their subject. In all 02 teachers have acquired Ph. D., 12 acquired M. Phil. degree, and two with SET / NET qualifications. Dr. B. D. Borse is a recognized M. Phil. / Ph. D. supervisor (guide) in Botany of N. M. University, Jalgaon.


Departments and Laboratories :

Each department in the college has its own room / laboratory.


Central Library :

The central library of the college has specious room with massive collection of 4153 books, 08 periodicals, 06 research journals, and 05 dailies. Separate reading rooms are available for students and faculty members from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm.


Hostel :

On the premises of our college, there is a Boys Hostel with 75 intake capacity. This hostel is run by Tribal development division, Govt. of Maharashtra.


Gymkhana :

The Gymkhana department of our college motivates the students for their physical fitness. The students are encouraged for various sports and athletics. Gymkhana provides all facilities for some outdoor games. The play ground is ideal for Holly ball and Kabaddi games.



The National Service Scheme unit has... Students. The unit implements regular activities like communal harmony, health hygiene awareness, campus cleanliness and beautification, medical camps, pollution and AIDS awareness, etc,


Scholarship :

Freeships / Scholarships of the state / central Govt. such as EBC, SC, ST, NT, OBC, Primary teacher Scholarship, scholarship for physically handicapped students are provided.


Personality Development :

Extra curricular activities through various committees such as art circle, debating unit, elocution and planning forum are arranged.
